Leaders are made, not born, and at Sunset Park Elementary, a focus on leadership drives the success of this school that has served Pueblo's south side for more than a half-century.

Sunset Park is Pueblo's only "Leader In Me" school, a comprehensive-school improvement model—developed in partnership with educators—that empowers students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Sunset Park has been designated as a Leader In Me "Lighthouse School," just one of about 500 such schools nationwide, since Sunset Park has such high achievement not only in the classroom, but from its staff, students, parents, and the greater community.

The Sunset Park focus on setting kids up for success is a big reason why their students continually achieve at high levels, not only in elementary school, but beyond.
